If you watch the lecture you will find that 800kcal is not a recommended level of Calories any diet will have the same effect as long as it causes major weight loss over time (if you are overweight or obese)
I would recommend not going below 1200kcal as If you are a man that is approx 1300 deficit per day which is a huge amount. On 800kcal a day I was cold, shivering, weak. On 1200 I felt completely normal and able to do anything (exercise etc) and I lost 25kg over 4mths down to 80kg.

I would say you will be very lucky if a GP or nurse supports you as I was told not to do it by mine. But now hey have changed their opinions based on my "miracle" of passing an OGTT well within normal levels when they all stated this was impossible. Also the dietitian was flummoxed as my chol went from 8.5 to 5.2 when she stated without statins it was only possible to lower it 10%.
