Hi Cazza. Hope you’re well.
Well, my eight weeks finished last Tuesday. To be honest, for the last ten days I was eating food - about 800 calories per day and keeping carbs below 50g per day. I’m now concentrating on eating real food but keeping carbs below 40g.
In eight weeks I lost 30lbs. I had lost 18lbs prior to starting. So in total 16% of my body weight in ten weeks and I aim to lose another 62 before Christmas. Interestingly, in the end I was losing around 3lb per week - the same as I am now losing whilst eating food. For the last few weeks my blood sugars have been between 5.1 and 6.7. Mainly in the 5’s. I will get an HbA1c next week (ten weeks after my last one) and hope to have reduced from my previous 56 mmol/mol.
My blood pressure is now regularly in the 120/70 range which has also been a good result.
I’d recommend the ND as a quick fix start but it’s clearly not sustainable and doesn’t claim to be. Once you can control your appetite (I have found low carbing achieves this), find a sustainable low carb diet and move onto it.
