I agree - the dates are a waste of time and are only there to cover the manufacturers' backs.Need to rant about food dates. Ok we all know everything edible has a date on it but how useful are they to you. We look for stuff with the longest use by date which is fine until you open it then you find it says for example with the cream I have which says eat within 2 days of opening My husband does not eat cream and I can't eat enough to use a carton in 2 days even some cheese that I have says eat within 7 days of opening yet cheese keeps for ages longer than that and will still be alright. If you are on your own or like us just a couple then sometimes it is difficult to eat stuff up in the given time so it gets thrown away.
I was married 58 years ago and a long time before we had a fridge let alone a freezer. Food was kept in a larder and cupboards and used until it was finished it was only thrown away if it had literally gone mouldy. I know now that I waste stuff just because it has been opened and not used by the given time especially things like sliced meats, yogurts and other perishable foods I feel I have to do that because we are told it is dangerous not to and that is so annoying

Sounds like a direct "hit" ?At least my coat dried overnight under the tree despite rain but it has got a small patch of "luck" on it
Yep, but fortunately just one small one.. I mean if I WILL peg out directly beneath the birdie high rise hotelSounds like a direct "hit" ?
I have the same problem with my car, which I park under a tree at the front of my house. And I always think to myself, "What a CHEEK, after I've been feeding you for all these years!"Yep, but fortunately just one small one.. I mean if I WILL peg out directly beneath the birdie high rise hotel
Ah, you've been feeding them TOO wellI have the same problem with my car, which I park under a tree at the front of my house. And I always think to myself, "What a CHEEK, after I've been feeding you for all these years!"
I'd feel the same .... My previous painkillers they never gave more than two weeks at a time. To see the doc I want I have to wait 3 weeks usuallyI have had it with my Drs surgery! They forced me to waste their time by refusing to put something on repeat when I asked by letter, now they've not put something on my prescription that they've issued before! Gah! I can't get through in the mornings to make appointments either! Meh! Sorry I just need to rant as I very cross about it all!
Hey, rant away. We need an outlet sometimes. Major chaos when main servers go down.....especially if you're in the driving seat/firing line for fixing them....@Sable_Jan Thanks for the encouragement. I would like to say the stress level is lower but it's just going up up up! Today I got hauled on to the carpet because I haven't been labelling my filing properly. Didn't occur to them that I've been doing this way for almost 3.5 years and nobody told me differently. Then in the middle of being "talked to" my main server came crashing down. Now I've spent the last 5 hours getting everyone on to the backup machine and after getting the old server back up getting any changed files over that didn't already sync. They all get to go to a co-workers birthday lunch and I'm stuck here trying to fix the server. I haven't check my BG today. I just don't want to stress over it right now. I'm trying to take a few minutes to my self to decompress before jumping in to the deep end again. Thanks for letting me rant.
.... also, if your manager has only just noticed this, then I can't help feeling that s/he isn't doing their job properly, and it's them who ought to be facing a telling-off......Hey, rant away. We need an outlet sometimes. Major chaos when main servers go down.....especially if you're in the driving seat/firing line for fixing them....
One upside.....you got to avoid the birthday cakewithout needing any willpower
I'd throw the term "custom & practice" in if they start on about file names again. After 3.5 years your method is well established.....I'd say add "so there!" too but that might be taking it too far
