My gastroenteroligist told me today I have this, revealed by a scan of my abdomen. Does anyone else have it? Does anyone know anything about it or how it is caused/cured?

With the best will in the world @Tannith .
From what you are suggest thus far, you have little more than a comment from a gastroenterologist after a scan?
To put things in context. Was this a consultant? Or basically a "machine operative?" (Granted highly trained I what they do..)
Responses you are courting with this topic could be varied & somewhat misleading, (maybe needlessly alarming.) regarding your personal case.

A consultant. He told me in a letter which he wrote as a follow up to my scan. And said he would be arranging an appointment for me. These are always telephone appointments now, because of covid, but they take ages to get. Because pancreas connects to duodenum I wondered if there was a connection to T2 and whether others had experienced the same thing.

@Tannith with sincerest best wishes, again.
Yep, I can see the way the thought processes are going with the anatomy of it all.
The best thing is to await the consultant's appointment.
I can appreciate the anxiety of a letter. They tend to be a generic "update" after any sort of scan or wot not.
The cause. Or even the severity of what is being conveyed in a letter at this point is anybody's guess. Pending on personal experience, potentially contributed.
Which may not help your personal anxiety over the matter..
Knowing the full facts from your consultant on his findings &'knowing what you are faced with is more empowering for you, basing it on what you know from your specialist.
It would be unfair all round for anyone to speculate, otherwise..
