think i am getting it together

Just had 2 firsts this christmas...firstly we went away for each day and secondly my 1st with diabetis

was worried how I would manage/feel about both these things
IT WAS GOOD! No it was great

I really enjoyed each day [one with daughter, one with son and one with brother in law and their respective families!!] and feasted well within what I should eat with a little treat each day. Best of all I did not feel deprived in any way. I think this means I have got my head around the eating things especially as I am on antibiotics for a chest infection which usually messes it all up a bit

This is, i believe, mainly due to all the support from this site....so thaNK YOU AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

This is a lovely post to read .

You handled everything so well and wisely during the xmas festivities.
It does take time to adapt and find the things that work and suit each person well.
Sounds like you have :clap: - Well Done .
It takes time and effort to learn , try , and discover , implement this into our lives .

Sorry to notice that you have a chest infection now - I do hope this clears up soon.
Taking the antibiotics can indeed push the BG levels up a bit :thumbdown:
All you can do is test often and keep a close eye on yourself .

Its nice to hear when things go well and work out successfully with members.
It is inspiring even 'me' forwards and onwards too...

the chest infection is on its way out now and was not a problem to me ass I have learnt to deal with these over the last 60 years and, although poorly, feel in control of them in a weird sort of way.

It is all so much easier when you get that feeling that you have some sort of control and that is why I posted that I am 'happy' with my diabetis now [well not happy but you know what I mean] even after the testing christmas period
 
I do know what you mean ...
It is when you have found the things that work for "you" :thumbup:

Things 'do' get easier when control is achieved and we can adapt and continue with maintaining it
Harder to do when ill or taking antibiotics and caught up in the xmas festivities .
Things like this - can shift or change things a little making a difference .

As we stick to the workable and do-able things that can successfully keep our BG levels steady.
We find ourselves happier feeling and seeing the results of better control .

Well done Susan, ate like a pig at Christmas but back on the wagon Put on 2kgs eating all the wrong things but blood glucose always under 7.4 so back to the gym and the salad bar
 
I did have a 'bad' day yesterday but don't feel too bad about it and finished of the 'temptation' food with the family so that was good ....At least that was my excuse
