Okay well I'm a type 1 diabetic, it'll be 6 years in September. Hah, wow well I guess I don't know.... it's weird to say it'll be 6 years soon. You never really picture yourself saying something like this until you've actually said it. A lot of things have changed since I was diagnosed, some were good and some were bad. But now I'm just trying to find people to talk to about this. You know like how we all deal with it differently.
I'm approaching my 33rd of year of living with type 1 diabetes, so that's two-thirds of my life taken-up with living with the condition. Certainly there's been some up's & down's but it never pays to dwell on the down's as it's important to keep a positive state of mind when you live with a condition like diabetes, just remember diabetes doesn't define who we are it is just a small part of our life.
I am also a type 1 diabetic , and I have had diabetes for 15 years now . Got diagnosed when I was 7 and I'm now 22 .
It is very difficult to comes to term with being a diabetic . But never let it rule your life always remember that you rule your diabetes .
Once I learned to accept it , I find that now having diabetes does not bother me , I work with it all the time and not against it .
I always try to look at things in a positive way , even though it's hard to get past the negatives . But being a diabetic . Once you learn a lot about you own diabetes . And what control works for you ect , it isn't that bad .
