Walking on something frightens me now where i didn't care for years (before diagnosis)[:0]

I heard of a guy that had a party and next morning he came into the living room and stood on a piece of glass,pulled it out and forgot about it.
Later on he was diagnosed with diabetes and as for the foot,got scepticemia (right spelling?) anyway the poor soul died from it.
makes me think these days.
I remember getting diagnosed and told to watch my feet and i was like at the time"what have the feet got to do with anything?"

I really think that people who don't have diabetes need to understand it more too, I knew nothing about it before i got dianosed, all i thought then was that people with diabetes avoided sugar and just sugar (DUH!:mrgreen one thing,it's an education!

Your'e right, it is an education but the problem is we have to educate ourselves because in most cases we don't get the information we need from the diabetes doctors and nurses. What is the point of telling a new diabetic to watch his feet if he isn't told why!

With my numb feet I 99% wear shoes or trainers now. Even if you have normal sensation it doesn't worth the risk of a penetrating injury.

Hoping that my hyperbaric oyxgen therapy will help the numbness (due to start this week at last).
