When I had the test I was still eating carbs, though had cut down. I did eat more carbs the 3 days prior as directed by the doctor. Also I was every stressed when I had the test the it's possible this affected the resulted to some degree.
Well I would just concentrate on having a good diet and exercise and losing the 10kg. This will help your health generally. I really don't think you need to worry about diabetes right now. (I have far more weight than that to lose, so I'm not judging you!)
edit: By 'good diet', I mean a healthy eating plan, not a 'lose weight quick' diet.
This forum has been a great source of information to help me.
I stopped the chips & coke snacks each morning, cut out sugary foods, except for the very occasional treat and stick to lots of seafood, veggies (no potato or sweet potato, limited pumpkin) and only a maximum of 2 pieces of fruit a day (nothing tropical).
Also no rice, pasta or bread, though I treat myself to a slice of Burgen Soy-Lin bread on the weekend.
