Only saw doctor briefly but they are doing bloods again so I hope so... if not I will book another appointment.... so hard to even get appointment nowdays. ThanksFerretin is at the lower end of normal. Iron is relevant to thyroid function. Raising this might help support the thyroid. Low iron can also can raise hb1ac in some circumstances. As said you need more info on the thyroid tests. Is she treating either issue? Is she investigating why your ferretin is low?
Actually your reference range for ferretin isn’t what I expected (mine is 11 - something massively higher than I ever hope to achieve) so it is indeed lower than I thought.Ferretin is at the lower end of normal. Avoiding tea coffee dairy nuts and eggs at the same time as intake of the above as that inhibits uptake.
Definitely. Just not in the same bit of the dayBut do eat lots of eggs, but mostly not in the same meals as your increased red meat.
I'd love to have my t4 and t3 bloods done but even when the doc asks for the hem to be done re my request they com back from the lab just with tsh they just refuse to do them@Carbon. Where are the T4 and T3 results? TSH figures are useless without these and tell you nothing.
I totals agree but I hey I hunk it is they override the he doc every time Cost I supposeCarbon, as you know, nobody here can diagnose you, but looking at the results you have posted here it looks like your thyroid could be struggling a bit.
Please don't let those repeat tests slip, and I'd suggest when you are re-checked you ask for the full thyroid panel to be done. That's TSH, FT4, FT3, plus the TGAb and TPOAb antibodies.
You might want to have a bit of a read around what elevated thyroid antibodies means. It's nothing to be scared of, but something to be aware of as it should really influence some decision making for your Doctor.
As several vitamins; D, B12, Ferritin, Folate and the CRP-hs inflammation factor are all implicated with the thyroid, in that the thyroid struggles if those are well off.
In the meantime, please ask your Doc for guidance on bringing that ferritin level up.
(NHS labs are notoriously bad for not doing complete thyroid panels if they don't think they're warranted. That's not their clinical decision, in my view.)

I am also mostly vegetarian... Have been for years.. although I do eat fish at times, I was avoiding fruit although I like it as it will bring up blood sugar levels again. ?If they aren’t doing bloods again for another 2 months I’d at the very least be trying to raise ferretin by diet. Eg red meats and chicken liver alongside vit c to increase uptake eg peppers, strawberries and broccoli. Avoiding tea coffee dairy nuts and eggs at the same time as intake of the above as that inhibits uptake.

Thanks I will ask for this... T3 & T4 tooI have been having very regular thyroid bloods done over that last couple of year. There's never any issue having TSH and T4 done, but my GP has to hand write a very strong directive to the lab to get T3 done.
