I'm going to my doctors today to get my last reading. I only received a text message back in June asking if I would like to join a programme. I will definitely ask about seeing a diabetic doctor/nurseWell done on the weight loss and good luck keeping it up.
You do not mention if you have seen a Dr or Diabetic nurse if you have not then please do.
what level are your readings ?
I'm probably about 50gr - 80gr of carbs aday. Yeah my blood levels rise in the evening so I've started walking before bed also.I agree with @zand - you don’t need to go hungry, in fact for me personally I find if I’m hungry it actually has a detrimental effect on my BG and raises my numbers. I don’t fast but I don’t snack either. I have 3 meals a day with about 6 hours in between but I don’t eat many carbs at all. About 20g carb a day. I also have a small no carb snack about 10pm, something like a hard boiled egg with a bit of mayo, or a small piece of cheese & a few nuts or a bit of celery.
Sorry about that @spencer72, did you get an error message when trying to reply? the forum can glitch sometimes, try again or you can try tagging a member by putting @ in front of their name like I have with your name in this post. If you continue to have problems just give myself or another of the mod team a shoutTried replying to Zand but ran into technical issues on here.
Well doneThe lovely nurse I saw on Tuesday phoned me today to give me my results.
I scored very low on the prostate score. My cardiovascular score has dropped from 11? In 2024 to 10? Something in June to 6.8 today.
HDL has dropped from 4.5 to HDL to 4.2
The best bit......I'm no longer classed as pre-diabectic. My score has dropped from 43 to 40. She was excited and this was genuine. She just said to me to continue what I doing as its working for me.
I have put so much effort into this and this is my reward.
Not only have I reversed it but I'm a lot slimmer aswell.
There were clothes that i really liked that I couldn't part with and hid away. Never believing for one moment I would ever fit into them again.
Shop window reflections are not scary anymore.
All I need now is for my hair to grow back. I wonder if I walk more I might be able to reverse this?
Thanks all
I cannot quite believe how quickly I have turned it around. Once I get something into my head that's it.Well done
this is exactly what my nurse said at my last check up (last February) am well overdue this one but all the blood labs in Lancashire on strike so can only get part of it done
Mt nurse did say you can have to occasional thing just now all the timeI cannot quite believe how quickly I have turned it around. Once I get something into my head that's it.
I intend to stick around also to remind myself how easy it is to fall of the wagon.
Going to Spoons today then onto a theatre. Neat spirits only. That is the hardest part for me not food anymore. I enjoy a real ale.
Im definitely going to play about with my carb intake regarding foods and tes after meals,
