Timing of medications

I currently take Metformin 500mg twice a day, plus Perindopril 8mg to manage hypertension. The recommendation is to take Perindopril half an hour before a meal, and Metformin with food. Now, I'd like to follow the instructions to the letter, but either my life seems too haphazard or I'm just not very organised, so I take them both together, either half an hour before a meal or with my food. Does it matter?

Don't know about the peridopril but don't take the metformin before food as it gives the runs and stomach problems.
