I experience tinnitus daily - usually at night..It doesn't really bother me - a background annoyance more than anything. I just ate a dark chocolate oaty bar and its come on with a vengeance.. So I'm thinking sugar may make it worse.. ?
My tinnitus was caused by direct damage to the auditory nerves. Blood sugar levels don't seem to have much of an effect it just caries on in the same relentless manner as it has done for the last 40 odd years.
Kraft identified a link between high insulin levels (insulin resistance from carb intake) and tinnitus, rather than with high blood glucose levels.
Although, of course, the two things can go hand in hand.
