Tired all of the time

I live to sleep but I'm really bad at it so tired all the time, 3 hours is good, 4 hours fab, I dream of 6 hours.
Do you drink coffee, found that when I stopped drinking it about 20 years ago, I felt more naturally tired it was horrendous coming off of it but worth it.

Do you have a meter to test your BS as it would be a good idea to see what it is doing and if you find it is within normal range then it would pay to go see your Dr.

I also have hypothyroidism and I know it's easy to just blame your thyroid but I think it might be worth mentioning it to your GP as if you are anaemic that can make you tired and there are other blood tests they can do to see what is going on. As you say your results are all normal.

It isn't normal to be so terribly tired all the time, especially as you are sleeping well over night. Something isn't right. My advice is to see your GP and make sure he understands how hard this is for you. Did you have a full blood count test? If not, maybe that is the way forward.

There are a few reasons for sleeping a lot. The high blood sugar and hypothyroid are worth discussing with your doc, even if your recent test results suggest otherwise. The HbA1c is just an average over the last few months so you could be having highs and lows, which don't show up on that test, and unless they ran a full thyroid panel to make sure all your different levels are in range, then something could still be out of wack there.

But... depression is also a major cause of sleeping a lot, and sometimes it is very hard to spot in yourself. Might be worth checking that out too.

Congratulations on getting your HbA1c down so well! I know how much hard work that can take, so I take my hat off to you!

Does not sound "normal".

I'm the other end of the scale..since controlling all my metabolic markers over the last three months I have boundless energy and only sleep an average of 6 hours a night. I was concerned so set up a thread to discuss it, but all in all I feel better than I have for years, so I've stopped worrying

If I were you, I'd get it checked out with the doc.

If you are taking blood pressure medications to lower your blood pressure, some of these have tiredness as a side effect @kjc2011 You certainly need to see your G.P. so that he can do some investigations.
