Tired Limbs

Hi
I have type 1 diabetes and it is controlled with an insulim pump
Lately i am feeling that my limbs, particually by legs, are becoming increasingly tired and difficult to move - it is a hassle walking up stairs and also walking any distance
Hasy anyone else experiemced this and does anyone have any solutions?

Hi Phil,

These are not symptoms from having diabetes as such and you will need to see a doctor to get the problem diagnosed.

Possibilities:

muscle pain from taking statins? (usually only offered to type ones if they are over 40 or have complications)
vascular problem?( eg intermittent claudication)
back problem? (eg spinal stenosis)
muscle problem? (eg stiff man syndrome which is also an autoimmune phenomenon)
nerve problem? (eg neuropathy from prolonged high blood sugars)

Do you see what I mean? There are many things that could be going on.
