Tiredness

Good morning!

Well, there is masses of diet advice on the forum. But the thing you have to remember is that people taking insulin and people not on insulin handle carbs quite differently - an insulin user can usually eat what carbs they like, and tailor their medication to match - but it does need carb counting.

Whereas, non insulin users usually benefit by reducing their carb intake, which lowers their blood glucose without needing insulin. they can often reduce any other medication they are taking too.

But there are several insulin users on this forum who have benefited tremendously by reducing carbs AND using precise doses of insulin. Some of them are type 2 and have eventually stopped needing insulin.

I can only talk about what works for me (type 2, no insulin) - which may not be what works for you.

Over in the low carb section of the forum we have a thread called What did you eat today? which can give you an idea of menus.

Keeping carbs to a minimum is sound advice, I kinda learned the hard way with constant hyperglycemia and that is not pleasant. I am an insulin user but also have half my colon missing due to surgery. The colostomy I had for 3 years was reversed and have to eat a high fibre diet to keep my bowel functioning well. So accidentally the LCHF diet suits both my medical issues to a t lol.

Hi, @foolsgold Just a silly question? Are you getting enough sleep due to your bar work , pleasure times and odd hours etc;
It is your comment regarding the darkness around your eyes that indicates lack of proper sleep patterns.
Obviously you need to have better control,
Just make sure you are not exhausting yourself by eating junk food etc;
best of luck.

Well troops I decided to have a duvet day (all 15 togs of it too lol) just to recharge the batteries and to be honest be a lazy bum as well. Everyone should do this now and again if they have the chance. I am happy to be cosy, avoided the stress of shopping centres and relaxed with the PC and good tunes. Diabetes can exhaust you so dedicating some quality time to yourself is just what the doctor ordered for me. Relaxation tunes later on....yawn but feels good lol

go to your GP and see if you can get a blood test to check your vitamin D, a lot of the time Vitamin D deficiency can go hand in hand with Type 1 and can make you feel like s***!
