Diet only
Diagnosed Oct 2019 with Hba1c 52 (6.9%) FBG 7.5
Starting weight was 19st 6.5lbs BMI 41.4
Given a chance to alter with diet/exercise before Metformin
Follow up bloods 13 days later were Hba1c 48 (6.5%) FBG 5.1

Purchased SD Codefree in Nov, started using one month after diagnosis.
Weight now 18st 6 lbs BMI 39.1
All 2 hour postprandials were in normal range, sub 140 (7.8)
Typically they were 120 - 110
Eating lowish carb 40-60g

Kept up diet & exercise then started experimenting with carbs.
Tried a 110g carb homemade dinner, 140 at 1 hour, 140 at 2 hour, 115 at 2.5 hour
Not too bad but I rekon I'd found my limit
Reverted to 40-60 carbs per meal from then on

Weight continued to tumble off due to portion control & excercise.
This week was 15st 8.5 lbs (3st 12lb loss) BMI 33.1 Still obese but getting there
Bloods taken Tuesday, got results today Hba1c 34 FBG 5.1, extremely happy

Now if I subscribe to the Roy Taylor personal fat threshold I can see that it was my initial small weight loss that cleared my visceral fat.
I now know that if I ever become sedentary again & return to 18.5st + it will come back.
Conversely if I can get back to a healthy BMI I should improve my insulin resistance that bit further.
Lastly, I believe none of this progress would have even been attempted without this forum, you have my eternal gratitude.

Proof was in (not eating)the pudding!
Great that you learnt what works and don't consider this a short term fix.

Magic, super news.
