I was diagnosed last October type 2 so am on metformin lipitors statins folic acid vitamin d and eltroxine just before Christmas both of my big toenails started to look bruised they are like mirror images of each other. Anyway I done the Desmond course in January so I thought the nurse might be able to help so she got the podiatrist who told me that my shoes were too small and that's why my toes are bruised.I had gone out to buy shoes when I got the diagnosis to take care of my feet. So I bought a pair of sketchers walking shoes and i paid a lot more than I usually would 73euros these shoes are quiet roomy so if I go up a size they will fall off me any advice Terri

Hi @Terri333 and welcome to the forum. I usually wear walking or running shoes, which my diabetic nurse approves of. If your shoes are too big you could buy some gel insoles. I use them and they make my shoes a lot more comfortable, and absorb shock so can prevent you getting plantar fasciitis if you walk a lot, which I do.
You can buy gel insoles online for around 15 Euros a pair.

She said that they were too small and I was pushing my foot up to far and this was bruising my toenails but this is the first proper shoes I have had in years my daughter wears them for me cause I hate new shoes. It's just while we were doing the course they talked about feet a lot so I thought this would be the time to ask Terri

Hi @Terri333 you did the right thing by getting them checked but sounds like you got an unhelpful response.
