The past few days I have been doing readings much higher than normal. Some are high teens to low twenties. My diet is no different in fact I have cut back a bit as I have an upset tummy. Nothing too bad, just a bit "off". I have even started new insulin pens but readings still high. Could a mild tummy upset cause these readings?

I guess it could be possible that is the reason. I find my sugars go higher when I am getting ill, especially at the beginning of a cold.

I tend to increase my basal a little bit (I'm on a pump) if I'm ill, but I do this gradually to avoid loads of hypos.

If you're unsure then ask your DSN.
