Hi

T2D diagnosis end of April and trying to get my initial 13.5 A1C test down: next test due in early August.

Since then I have been targeting a low-medium carb intake dietary approach of less than or equal to 150g carb per day.

However- despite doing this for 2 months now- it suddenly occurred to me to question whether I should be targeting the total carb amount or the Atkins/ American notion of "net carbs"- which I believe is total carb minus total fibre (I could be wrong there). My 'net food diary' app also provides a net carb calculation.

Anyone have an opinion on this 'total Vs net carb' question?

thanks

In the uk, the total carb figure has ALREADY had fibre deducted from it, so you should definitely use total carbs. Our figure is effectively the American "net" figure
