Type 1 Travel Insurance for 90 day backpacking trip to USA

Greetings,
My name is Scott and I'm currently 23 and wondering if anybody have any advice for buying travel Insurance for a 90 day backpacking style trip to the USA?
I have type 1 diabetes and would like would like to know if anyone has been in a similar situation and can offer me some of their thoughts?
 
No experience to offer @scodger but will bump your post up in the hope that someone may help.
 

Why not just Google backpacking insurance. There are loads and loads available. If you use one of the aggregators, many also ask up front if you need pre existing conditions to be covered.

As a non medicate T2, much older than 23, I don't have much more wisdom to offer you, I'm afraid.
