This is my first journey away with type 1 diabetes on Monday where I will be travelling on a plane. I am travelling with monarch and I have got a doctors note etc to allow me extra weight with my luggage. However, I have heard that you are also allowed an extra bag to carry your medication in. Is this true? Has anyone ever flown with Monarch and knows their regulations on this? I have emailed but I am awaiting a reply!!!
Keep all medication in original boxes, take extra in case of emergency, have a copy of your repeat prescription. Tell security you have sharps in bag. If you are holiday in in EU get a http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcareabroad/EHIC/Pages/about-the-ehic.aspx
If going further afield remember to get holiday insurance (you should have this in EU as well)
Most important have a great holiday
