I had issues with hypos when I first switched from Levemir (10u night/5u morning) to 15u of Tresiba at night.
At first, I was on the fence about switching (and even debated switching back) but after about a month it was very clear that Tresiba works much better for me.
It's important to note that I now only take 11u of Tresiba compared to the split 15u I took with Levemir.
That's a very loaded question. Generally speaking, I prefer to eat foods lower in carbs. However, I avoid carbs at all cost. Example: yesterday, my wife and I went to a Ramen restaurant and I ate probably 250g of carbs in one sitting.
Short answer: I eat reasonably lower carb foods but don't feel that I have to avoid them at all costs.
I am now currently on 10 units of Toujeo. Would I need a lower dose if I switch to Tresiba? I find Toujeo is causing me unexplainable highs and lows. Also, it`s giving me side effects. I used to be on Levemir before Toujeo, but I did`nt like that it peaked in the middle of the day.
