Trigeminal Neuralgia

Hi all.

It seems I may have developed this condition. A pharmacy of analgesia has failed to work so far. It's bl**dy miserable I can tell you.

Has anyone here got any words of experience/advice/wisdom they wish to share?

My GP has suggested carbamazepine which means swapping the pain for some other rotten, common side effects. Caught between the devil and the deep blue at the moment.

On the serious side it is the itching and weight gain that I have seen in people presribed this. You will not be on it long term hopefully so will escape it.

Hi
I was put onto about 6 years ago for seizures! It can cause itchy skin for the first few weeks!
There is a side effect of weight gain! I gained 2 stones in 6 months! Hence i came off the pill's!
I know that all people react different i have a friend who takes them and she has no problems with them at all!
