Hi All, Bloods so high I now have to begin a weekly injection. Starting with Trulicity next week. Anybody tried this? Does it work? Any side effects? Feeling rather despondent about it and would appreciate any info.

No was on Victoza for a while and it was great though it was a daily injection. I have now moved onto insulin as a type 2 and even though the first time I inject in a different area I am apprehensive it's fine. It took me 6 months to try injecting in my thigh as the first time I tried I bent the needle and squirted the liquid every where. Second time was fine and I still can't figure out what went wrong the first time. You'll be fine and remember it's ok to be nervous.

Progressed from daily Victoza to weekly Trulicity. It was great to only have to inject once a week. Now have to inject insulin once a day as well as the weekly Trulicity. Seems to be working fairly well. No bad side effects from any of them. Benefit is that don't get an upset tummy so often, though still on Metformin and Gliclizide. There was a little weight loss initially with all of the injections but really want to lose at least a stone with the low carb regime. It would be great to reduce the medication. Was initially in denial about going onto insulin and could not bring myself to start it for over a week. Glad I did as I don't fall asleep so much now during the day. Good luck, Wendy
