A big hello to youType 2 here, but just saying welcome
I have made change to diet but in general just feel more hungryHi and welcome.
I don't think that your hunger issues are specifically restricted to Lantus but can be a general issue with insulin..............

I was wondering if many people were on lantus? i find this insulin makes me really hungry :O( I just want to know if anyone else is taking lantus and is making them hungry??
Hi!
I am on about the same lantus as you at night time, no extra hunger but I have been using it for 7 years or so, could have been different at the start!
What I do get is quite severe, burning pain sometimes from it - almost as if my body is allergic once it is injected?! But, as I say not all the time, very odd!
Anyway, welcome I am new to the forum myself and am finding it really useful and full of lovely people
Mia, Lantus is slightly acidic due to its mechanism of operation. This means that when it enters the body it crystallizes to forum the reservoir that is slowly broken down and released over the 12-24 hours over which it is supposed to work. This acidity is the reason you will feel a burning sensation. What I do get is quite severe, burning pain sometimes from it - almost as if my body is allergic once it is injected?! But, as I say not all the time, very odd!
