Hi all,
I'm a couple of months into my diagnosis of T2D. At my initial diagnosis, my GP gave me the information for a modulated education course for newly diagnosed T2D, which I duly registered for. However, the waiting time for this is at least 6 months. In the meantime, I have managed to stabalise my blood sugars by following a LCHF diet and taking 2g metformin daily. I'm also an avid reader of this website and its forums.
The course is run during the day (they can't tell me what day it will be), for 2 hours a week over 6 weeks. This will mean I will need to take this time off work.
So, what I'd like to know is:
For those people who have attended this type of course, what did you think of the experience? Was it useful? Would you recommend it?
And also, what more am I likely to learn (if anything) given that I will no longer be exactly 'newly diagnosed' when my turn to attend comes round.
I'm trying to decide whether this is something that I need to do given the length of the course and the time I'll need to take off work. Like most people I have a busy, demanding job and my own patient list that I will need to hand over to colleagues in order to attend.
