Type 2 diagnosed with Anal Cancer

Just been diagnosed with anal cancer and advised that I will be undergoing major surgery with major reconstruction ending in a stoma on my upper colon.

I am undergoing further tests for three Polyps in various positions in my colon over the next 2 weeks to determine where the stoma can be placed ..

Has anyone any advice on diet etc for type 2 diabetes controlled by metformin 2x2 tablets with a stoma.

I am currently showing good diabetic controls for the past 10 years or more.

Thanks

My wife has a stoma due to Crohns and eats a pretty low carbohydrate diet without any issues.

There are issues with certain foods, such as onions or mushrooms.

I'm not an expert on how taking drugs will be affected by having a stoma, but I wouldn't think it should be a problem.

Had to Google Anual Cancer as I have not heard that one before, now anal cancer makes more sense.

You need to edit the title OP.

Hope all goes well for you hugzzzzz
