I had my regular annual blood tests and blood pressure in December 2017 by the so called diabetic nurse.
I was suffering dry itchy ears at the time and asked if it could be a ear infection before taking my blood pressure. Another nurse was called and she looked in my ears telling me it was a 'symptom of diabetes' and I should put up with it! All this was happening whilst the other nurse took my blood pressure! Needless to say my pressure was alleviated as this is the answer I get to every symptom I get.
Got the results one week later and the nurse said my cholesterol was raising and statins should be considered but a further test in three months should be done before this just to be sure but I should give up sausages and bacon in the mean time!
Anyway I cancelled my test appointment as the dry ear became an ear infection due to swimming and water in the ear. With steroids prescribed which affects blood results. I never rescheduled and told the receptionist the reasons above and would just wait until my next annual tests.
Today I had three telephone calls from a doctor that wants me to have a blood test with the nurses again. I declined but you could tell the reception didn't care about my reasons so my records will say refused.
My results were
Cholesterol 6.6
HDL normal
Liver function normal
HbA1c 54
Never actually given my blood pressure results
Not brilliant but not over the top.
Feeling annoyed that they do not take in or document my reasons for my decisions.
Sorry needed to rant on here.
Thanks guys for being there.
