I've read on numerous websites that you can't have a hypo if your type 2 and on metformin is this correct?

I'm on 2x500 metformin a day yet my levels have been as low as 2.8 would this be a hypo or not?

Yes this is technically a hypo, but as you are not on insulin or a drug like gliclazide, your liver will spring into action and release glucose to bring you higher. Many non-diabetics are running at this level a lot of the time. You may feel a bit strange for a while before your liver starts working.

hi, i am also only on metformin and often run at 3.0 it dosent effect me so i don't worry about it, better that that than high i reckon, it goes without saying that if it makes you feel a bit weird, don't drive, if you feel fine, be happy......this is not medical advice, just my opinion
