I'm wondering when you have a cold and levels go up if I should increase my insulin? And also wondering if I can take ibrufen and paracetamol?
Thanx Clare

Hi @clarea ,

Sorry to hear you've come down with a cold.

I notice from your previous posts you've had other health issues?

Personally, I would consult the doctor regarding medication dose change, in conjunction with the proposed aditional painkillers..

Get well soon!

I do adjust my insulin when my bs is high, regardless of the cause. When I had a cold with a fever I had to be very careful, though. When the fever went up, my bs went up as well, but when the fever went down due to taking paracetamol the bs went down too. I found it really funny with my feverish brain to control my blood sugar with paracetamol, but I had to take care not to correct too much with insulin. Get well soon!

I found when poorly my BGL went up but when taking antibiotics it went down, unsure why but had to be careful monitoring
