I am a type 2 diabetic on Metformin and using a Libre 3 sensor to monitor my blood levels - generally in range but last blood test in June was 55 mmol/mol

For the last 3 weeks i've had issues with my foreskin tightening - have any others had issues and if so what meds did you use to over come the issue - worried I will need to get circumcised so please advise if you have over come similar issues

thanks, alex

Hi, nice one for posting. Sometimes its not easy to raise sensitive subjects. Talk to your doctor etc. If you're concerned, but same thing happened to me and after talking to others and research this is common. Basically I left things alone and after several weeks went back to normal. This has happened twice over the last 2 years

thanks appreciate you taking the time to reply - agreed its sensitive and embarrassing - thank you

can try stretching ring phimosis look up. was prescribed topical steriod no idea if cream helps or not. it thins skin.. allowing a little stretching. slowly but surely, depends really. sometimes adult circumcision is required if becomes too uncomfortable. i'd try stretching rings first gl

thursh can cause part of the issue according to gp pratice nurse.

thanks very much not heard of that ring but will look up - been avoiding to visit practice nurse - will see how i get on over the next few weeks - got some hydrocortizon cream at the weekend

you can get simular on amazon. various price differences.

the rings are not really scary, they are silicone based and pretty plyable. angle at 45 degrees move upwards through the sizes until comfortable give a good few days in between before attempting the next size up. really isnt that that bad. no need to use the metal part either. keep inserted for a few mins. warm water is good. you can if you really want use a little lube. if it hurts step down a size. just dont try larger than necessary to start with. was no gap what so ever here. im a few ring sizes up now still can't pull back.. i left it for years really wish i didn't.

if you can pull back but then cant retract would be a visit to a&e where local would be used and circumstised then and there in some cases. dont stretch too much at a time you'll be ok really isnt sore and if sore to use.. well go back down a ring size or two.

there is more expensive options no idea what they are like. which have a small balloon and inflate on the upper end of market: https://www.mypelvichealth.co.uk/en...ical-phimosis-treatment-foreskin-expander-kit 180 quid :O tbh i would avoid that imo unncessary expense (which isn't gaurenteed to work). really depends on what you want. dr will likely refer to urologist who will then likely offer surgical solution depending on if sore/uncomfortable.

thanks for explaining will get and try the rings - really don't want to get circumcised
