Type 2 Meet Up In York.

Thank You Moderator - I really ought to have sent the address of the accommodation in a pm.

Just to update this Thread.
There is 6 people to date meeting up at York Station on Friday, 11th August 2017 - anybody else interested ? Please just tag me for details.

A most enjoyable day was had by us 5 who met up in York yesterday on 11/8/17.
There was @Granny_grump_ and Hubby, @Squeekyboy and Partner, and myself (my partner was/is ill).
We went for lunch to a place called Cosmo that has an assortment of dishes from all around the world. We spent a good 90 minutes there eating and chatting.
Rain was forecast and so we all decided to stroll alongside the river passed the Canada Geese and went to the York Railway Museum and spent a good hour or more in there and had coffee and yet more chatting.
There was suggestions that October may be the next meet up?

It may have forecast rain but it held off what's that saying the sun shines on the righteous! Cannot wait to see our photos sorry we forgot our camera or there would have been more.

@Granny_grump_ , Hi again, yes a really great day had by all in York, we had a good laugh, nice meal & stroll by the river & a the trains were fabulous in the museum but best of all, we got to meet @liam, who was full of fun all day & both you & your hubby as well. Can't wait till the next meet in October & might be nice for the next one to be at Chester in Cheshire, what do you think? I''ll ask if any one else on the forum fancies coming along too. If it's a Friday meet are you OK for the 6th of October or Saturday the 7th if hubby needs his rest before you come? I'll sort out some places you could stay, if you were thinking of staying over & I'll find somewhere that everyone can eat.

@Liam1955 , Hi there, a big thank you, to you, our host for the day. We would both like to thank you for inviting us both to the meet & it's a shame more could not make it, because it was really great to meet you all, so are you up for a meet in Chester next in October? Please let me know, then I'll sort places you could stay & somewhere nice to eat to suit all. Once all sorted, I'll see if anyone else would like to join use so will mention on the forum. See you again soon.

Saturday is probably the better day for Geoff he's been shattered all weekend with having no sleep,and perhaps people who are working may make it on a Saturday better.But you will have to put out feelers on forum and see who's interested, Liam said he could set up a thread but he needs day,time,place to meet and where we are going to eat. But I'm not familiar with Chester the only place I can come up with to meet is the clock. So any information you can give out would be great,sorry I cannot be of more help to you apart from looking things up on computer for any relevant info. Don't think we can stay over Has Geoffs back in work on Sundays his week off is the following week to yours so we will go home after the meet up,just let me know what's happening and I will look out for any messages from you and Liam. @Granny_grump_ , Hi again! My lady is working Friday the 29th September but finishes at around 9:00 pm so that Friday is no good anyway, however the Saturday 30th would be great for us as we begin our weeks holiday then, as you are aware. Would that day be any good for you & your man, if so I shall invite all others from forum to see if they would like to join us. Do you fancy looking up some of the history on Chester, so you can tell people a bit about the area, coz I'm rubbish at history!
Let me know if date is OK & I'll put it on the forum in a new thread with details, which we will gather this Saturday, with where to stay in case @liam & anyone else wants to stay over.

Hi Steve Saturday 30 September is ok with us will you and Maria be staying overnight, we where going to come home has Geoff is back in work Sunday night but we may consider staying overnight will let you know.
I could look up some history on Chester but will have to print it off the head doesn't retain information like it used to, but I'll see what I can come up with. Thanks for organising this I'm hopeless at these things I panic about it all, keep in touch and take care. Best Wishes from Kathleen xx
 
@Granny_grump_, @Liam1955 , Hi both, as mentioned will be able to give more details on Saturday evening. Just a thought though, is @liam still coming by car or were they thinking of getting the train? let me know please @liam?
Thanks for looking up the info K, on Chester history & it's a good idea to print it out too. If you & hubby & @liam & partner are staying over, then we will do the same & have a couple of drinks before bed time. I'll see if there is any music in the evening(free entrance in a pub type of thing) if you are interested, let me know both of you please?

@Squeekyboy - Sorry, I cannot make the dates you mentioned in the above posts for Meet Up in Chester.
As I begin a 1 day Course on Friday's (10.30 to 12 noon) from 1st September for 8 weeks, which makes my Fridays booked up until after 27th October'17.

@DCUKMod, Apologies for the personal info only got carried away & thought at the time I was answering a PM. I've edited the details now. Will be more careful in the future.
