Not true, I'm not on meds and I'm diabetic. I have it under control with diet alone. Keep your chin up and God bless you.

Well I'm stumped I can't think of anything to say that would not be a little insulting to your hubby. So I will just say, you have my deepest sympathy and leave it at that.

Get that hubby of yours educated. Mind u it is a hard job. Mine is nearly there. There is occasional hiccups.
Mine thought I chose insulin rather than dieting. Then I had to remind him I only needed insulin due to having his 2 kids which made me more insulin resistant, each time.
My body has been through a lot since I met hubby. Huge stress mainly for the sake of my family. Worth every injection thou.
If I knew about low carbing when just on metformin I wouldnt be so insulin resistant now. Metformin only helps long term and whilst you're on it. Unfortunately for me I need it for other hormonal problems other than diabetes. So I'd still need a med to continue not turning into a testosterone muscle bound man when I'm all woman.
The hand we're dealt. Sometimes isn't a fair one.

I know my gp who is great with me tells my mum it could be worse when she gets a cold.
I guess we all think our own ailment is the worst when there's far more people out there suffering much more.

Maybe your hubby thinks because your not reliant on insulin to live then you're not a proper diabetic?
You mustn't let him see your mood swings and diabetic complications from exorbitantly high bgs or hypos from meds to keep you from dka.
I remember the days of no meds but being tormented by thrush at 6yrs old and crying through the night in pain and severe discomfort. Whilst everyone slept.
I cannot say diabetes even on no meds was any more fun than without meds. For me.
Only a diagnosis classes us as diabetic but I bet you suffered before diagnosis too. Was your hubby also not around then?

Now my hubby more knowledgable he can see ignorance from my angle but we've all been there. Right?

I bet he knows more than you think. You know how some men don't make a fuss and are very acceptant. He will know about the depression for sure. He may not want to upset you or make you cry so doesn't go there. It can be tough for them too.
I'm sure you will put it it in terms he can understand exactly what type2 means to you. Remind him of how much media get it wrong and even some GPs still get it wrong in this day and age.
I think more are getting the fact its primarily a diet disease but support is needed for many.

Depression is definitely worse than thrush as thrush can be medicated easier. If only I wasn't given antibiotics and antiseptic cream instead of thrush cream or treatment. Durr! What a life in the 70s!

I really wish that type 2 and no meds meant I wasn't really diabetic

Diabetes is Diabetes no matter what method you use to treat it or control it.

I don't understand my doctor took me off of meds when my hba1c was 50 have asked for tester strips said No! SO I am now buying my own strips with my own mrtre.My last hba1c was 53 asked if I could go back on Metformin told me know I don't need it as my reading is ok.I think my reading should be r0 or lower.What do you think guys and gals.x

@Motherhen2014 My doctor took me off metformin but I argued that it helped me control my weight as an apatite suppressant and he put me back on them. After all they are so cheap about 1 penny per tablet I believe. And also your test result was still in the diabetic range.
