Ed,
Those readings are very high - and pasta is one of the highest carbohydrate foods you can eat. You may need something a bit more drastic to bring those levels down so why not try having a couple of days with little or no carbs. For example
breakfast - bacon & eggs (scrambled, fried, poached), or 2 boiled eggs - no bread
lunch - a light salad - tuna or cheese, lettuce, tomato, cuc umber, onion, followed by a small amount of fruit - again no bread
dinner - a ham or chicken salad, fruit to follow, again no bread.
If you feel hungry between meals then have some cheese and a handfull of nuts - lots of protein but very few carbs.
After 2 days you should see a big change in your BG. Then you can gradually re-introduce some carbs, like pasta or bread or potatoes, but not all at once, and keep testing to see what effect each one has on your BG as you re-introduce them.
