Obviously being type 1 I know the symptoms for this but are type 2 symptoms the same?

My uncle is coming up to 50 and is obese and is falling asleep at work and can't drive because he can't stay awake and is dangerous.

I think that if he was diagnosed he wouldn't tell me or my family about it anyway, I just wondered if this was a symptom like it is for type 1.

other than the obvious that he needs to see a Dr
I slept a lot with T2 before I was diagnosed
sleep apnea is another reason people fall asleep during the day
pull out your meter and a new lancet next time you see him. Get someone to hold him down or wait till he falls asleep during dinner

I don't see him, he doesn't live near me and there was a family feud between him and us so I wouldn't waste a lancet on him anyway.

I was just wondering what the symptoms were

Thanks

I was always tired, but the trigger for me was constantly urinating full bladder every hour or so, extreme thirst and blurred vision, I was urinating as it was the body's way of trying to flush out the blood sugar

That's the same as type 1 as well, I had the same and still do when my bloods are high.
He hasn't mentioned that to my nan, who told my mom, but I doubt he would want to discuss that part!

I discovered recently my hand cramps were due to high bg and I have had them for some years.

Also memory loss and difficulties to get going.

My main problem was tiredness but wasn't taken seriously until the thirst set in.

Thank you, I'm sure when he gets his blood test results back he'll know what it is.
Like I said I doubt if he'll tell us but his whole life is on Facebook so he will slip up and post on there at some stage (he posted about VERY personal things in the past) will just have to wait and see I guess.
