Evening guys.
I'm new to this forum, I'm currently studying for my health and social care degree and doing some research on type 2 diabetes.
It would be fantastic if you could share your stories of diabetes, that is, if you're happy to.
I'd like to know what happened that resulted in you being diagnosed with diabetes (were you referred, did you go in to your GP for a check up or was it after a medical episode and were taken to hospital?).
What was your first thoughts when being told you may have diabetes?
Do you feel that you were given enough information by your GP on the condition or were you left worrying as you weren't made totally clear on what was going to happen next?
When you treatment first started out, did you find it difficult to stick to your new diet and medication? (if prescribed).
What kind of NHS services do/have you use(d) since being diagnosed with diabetes?
I know for some people it can be a sensitive subject so any input you could provide me with would be amazing.
Thanks!
Will Mackie.
