Didn't test yesterday early shift and in a rush was going to test in work but forgot kit ! Any way 6.3 fasting this am so well pleased even tho I did have pasta ( just love it ) last night . Slightly later testing than usual because actually had a lie in till 9

5.7 at 8am - i much prefer that to 5.9 of late!
Another night of waking at 4 am from a deep sleep, suddenly awake, hot and feeling my heart thumping....I'm going to post on a new thread to avoid going off - topic here, I have my first ever "annual review" coming up this week too so that will be another to discuss!!

looking at your numbers I would think the review is going to be a good one..

A bit of a shock with 7.8 this morning and I haven't a clue why, apart from a lingering cold. Tested again 2 hours after breakfast (a few mushrooms and two rashers of streaky bacon) and 7.0.

4.2 fasting

@Pasha m comin to getch ya
Provided you don't keep putting 3's that's my condition.

Make my day, I promise to keep in the 4,s to keep it a good challenge. A bit of friendly advice, I can see another

runner out of the corner of eyes, making a move from the outside, its Clive the drive .

Don't worry ,re myself I frown only cos I did have low 5's for quite a long time so for me 7's are disappointing but understandable because of my lack of exercise and over carbing . In a way it can be seen as a tad competitive but I don't think that way its intended . I personally like a bit of competitiveness but only in the sense that I am competing against myself if u know what I mean . P.s if you brought your levels down from 13.9 to 6.4 that's a massive improvement so be proud of your achievements

Maybe you've been having disturbing dreams that have shaken you then forgotten them as you've woken. Not sure if it is sleep amnesia or dream amnesia that stops us remembering. I'd've expected you to be higher after a shake awake like that... glad its on the downward trend again though

I'm trying to stay in the low 5's,

Apologies I didn't think that my response would be taken quite so seriously and treated as an attempt to encourage Merrylizard back on the carbs again. I know how difficult it is to cut carbs and also to be on a VLC diet but I also believe that individuals are perfectly capable in deciding for themselves whether they eat carbs or not and, if so, how many. I'm sure that one remark from me, or anyone else for that matter, will not influence that decision and I think that you do them a dis-service by suggesting that it will.

Enjoy your night out and don't worry too much about your report card - we're allowed the occasional bad mark!!!!

Thanks for your good wishes Daphne, I know that they came from a warm heart.
The thing is, if I did go off the rails this/last evening (and I am hoping that I have not, very much) dropped out of nutritional ketosis, then it might take as much as three days or so to get back, and it is so hard to get there.
Prof Taylor said that those doing ND should put their life on hold for the duration, but it is a counsel of perfection that few can adhere to, I certainly have found it difficult, even though I chose a period of least convivial socialising in my calendar to embark on the N D., with fewest birthdays, lunch meetings etc..
Another thing is that I would not like to get any black marks that could possibly be avoided.
I find that I am almost in competition with myself to do well. I don't know if this is an aspect of ND, or a surprising personality change in myself.
I'm going to end now, because I am exhausted and possibly maundering. If so, please forgive.

Hola @JohnD54

Hope you didn't measure your blood pressure after the MU game!
