@PatsyB Your morning readings will depend to an extent on what you ate the previous evening for tea and supper. A banana sandwich is not a wise choice for supper! You say you can't remember what you had the previous night - I suggest you keep a food diary of everything you eat and drink, then record your readings alongside. This way you may see a pattern emerging ie which foods are making your levels rise higher. Then you can learn what not to eat.

5.2 this morning on a controlled carb diet after getting back to uk, was at 4.8 before meal and 5.7 after

Well done Kim. You are doing brilliantly, and keeping consistent. I also had a good day yesterday, testing all meals my highest reading was 6.2 after lunch, the rest were all 5's, with highest spike being 1.0mmol/l after dinner. I was delighted, so I know how good you must be feeling.

3.9 for me today, having gone to bed at 3.7. That's fine by me.

I didn't get anything done outside yesterday as I just ran out of time, with a mid afternoon meeting getting in the way of things. But, my meeting went well, and left me with food for thought, and a whole lot more work to get on with. Never mind. It keeps me out of mischief.

Now, it's time to do a whole load of stuff, include make a couple of calls to folks I haven't caught up with for about a year. I may be hoarse later.

Play nicely boys and girls.

6.2, could be 5.7 adjusted, but in any case it was at 10 am and my liver was probably dumping in case I skipped breakfast.

Thank you Bluetit!! Loving seeing the 5's - had a couple of 4;s during the day recently too. Just getting a little edgey when I see a 6 but then try y to rationalise that it's ok after a meal!! It's not quite twelve weeks yet so I'm doing ok, DN did say she would be doing another hbA1c this month so I'm getting curious what this one will see in terms of reduction- as you pointed out, last one in July included 6 weeks pre-diagnos!

It's worth noting that the 3 months isn't straight line. The majority impact on your score will be the most recent 4 weeks, then less for the next couple of weeks, and so on. Furthermore not everyone's haemoglobin lasts the same amount of time.

I'm not trying to rain on your BBQ. I'd bet on a significant improvement on your last HbA1c, but the real impact is in the nearer period.

Keep doing what you're doing, undoubtedly, it's working.

Are these readings straight off the home meter or are some people adjusting them to the hba1c choice of measurement?
Hope that makes sense!

Mine's straight off my meter(s).
Gluco Rx Nexus.
Both seem to give similar figures.

No, there is a batch of Codefree strips that appears to be reading up to 0.5 mmol/l too high, that's all.

Aren't our home meters around 1% higher than the Gp's scale of measurement?
I do get a little confused by all the different measurements tbh...
