@dianagrace its very upsetting when you have been so good and you don't get the result you deserve. But don't get disheartened it will all come right in the end.
Just tested a fasting 4,4 mmol. I know most would love a reading like this but annoyingly, this is too low for me to follow my usual routine of exercising at the hotel gym first thing, showering, dressing and then going to breakfast.
To do so would risk a low or more likely a liver dump, which I would rather avoid.
So I will have to postpone my gym visit until later in the day, perhaps until this evening. Problem is I tend to be a lot less energetic and keen to exercise in the evenings.
Still I should not complain about what is objectively one of my best fasting level counts ever.
Being in the UK seems to agree with me!
Or is that being off work!

Have not thought about it as recycling the glucose in the liver, to be honest.Pavlos - As a matter of interest, why are you so against a liver dump?
I don't particularly enjoy the sensation I experience if I'm having a big one, but I do think it's probably quite healthy to cycle the glucose in my liver.
Just to be clear, there's nothing unpleasant about the liver dump, it's just not pleasant, if that makes sense.

Only reason I try to avoid one is because I try to keep my levels as smooth as possible.
Would rather have a bit of fruit when low than have liver dump glucose.
I don't think I know what a dump feels like to be honest.
Is there any health benefit to recycling glucose in the liver?

I guess it depends on how serious the low and what your fears are about going lower. I'm unfamiliar with the branding of your meds, so I have no idea if you are taking anything that would put you at risk of a medically worrisome hypo.
Whilst I also routinely run my bloods within tight ranges, I am also mindful that "normal", non-diabetic people's levels rise and fall as their bodies deal with their diets. As I am looking to replicate/mirror/mimic or even stimulate normal activity, I feel I should be accepting the ebb and flow I do.
I haven't read of any clinical advantage, or disadvantage of cycling my liver, but again, as a "normal" function, I don't really want to overly supper is. If I think of the enzyme memory for our bodies dealing with carbs, I also apply that to my body's ability to deal with low bloods. I have absolutely no wish for my body to forget how to boost my levels, by natural means, as and when I need it.
That's a bit of a brain dump, but I'll leave it there. It may germinate some discussion.
6,2 this morning but probably worth it.
I knew the wife wanted to go to a Chinese restaurant for a while now and she has been brilliant over this holiday, arranging it all and following the son and I to the football game yesterday, so I thought she deserved to get her wish, even if that would bring about somewhat elevated levels for me : 6,7 at one hour and 7,8 at two hours just before bed last night.
I just wish the food was a little better. The concierge's first recommendation was fully booked and the second choice ended up being just that: second choice. :-(
Just tested again; down to 5,8 an hour after waking up.
Off to the gym now; I have some sugar to burn.
