Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

8.4 on waking - so another high fasting reading. Am hoping it's this down to the cold.

Is that good or bad for you? Or have you not been testing long enough to have much data to work from?

Hi Sable_Jan & thank you for the welcome.

It's a pretty 'normal' reading for the morning fasting test, does tend to creep up throughout the day though!

So fed up with it!! My 1st post on the 'Newly Diagnosed' thread will give you more of an insight if you fancy a read & maybe help answer a few questions that have not been answered yet.

Once again, thank you.

No probs - With regard to answers the other guys and gals on here are perhaps best placed to help as I don't take any medication. About your family being good but not quite understanding get them to read the website too (not just the forums) its not easy to get your head around yourself much less explain to family but if they read it for themselves they should get a better understanding of what it means. "Luckily" - I know it sounds daft - but luckily, as I have high blood pressure my bloods are taken on an annual basis to check the water tablets etc aren't damaging my kidneys etc and it was at the last review that my pre-diabetic "status" was picked up on. I went on a course run by my council walking Away from Diabetes but by the time I'd gotten on it I'd learned more from this website.

Stay with us and I hope in many ways you are feeling better than you were in your first post

Aww, many thanks for your reply.

Good idea regarding my family, must say the hubby has read a few leaflets & pamphlets I was given so he's not totally ignorant but there is SO much to learn. I guess Rome in a day & all that, hey!!

And as for sticking with you, I'm of to find the glue!

Consistent and under those dreaded double figures again now. How are you feeling? Hope your body is back on a even keel now since the jab - wasn't flu jab: pneumonia jab?
Take care
Jan
Yes I'm getting there. Think it was a combo of jab and ms pain levels...daytime levels back to 6 ish. Thank goodness

It's ok thanks Jan - gave in and took the dressings off today as the adhesive was getting itchy and where the sides were rolling kept catching my hair!! Gave it a good clean earlier and it's looking good
That's great

7 this morning. I had an extremely stressful day yesterday and my Board meeting last night (I run a children's charity that works in the area of social and emotional learning and resilience skills development for the prevention of child suicide). Consequently, never got below 6 all day and then had a really rough night last night. I have to chillax a bit today and hopefully as the day progresses my readings will improve. Off to work soon.
