My meter, that's it, my meter's fault for the 8.4s....no? You're right, my Contour Next USB seems to give what I pretty much expect most of the time.
How are the battery levels in your meters @bluetit? Both stored at same temp & humidity?

OMG thats like the 1960's in the UK

I am beginning to think I may go back to my Accu Chek Mobile. I've been cross checking them for the last few days. They very rarely show similar readings. Yes, it's very frustrating.

Definitely sounds like you have a bug. Hope it goes quickly.
I try not to get to paranoid about my meter readings and use them as more of a trend. I've done three meters at once and it's enough to drive you to the whisky bottle. . And that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. Food has been a bit better today and tomorrow looks ok. Dad has been brought me some unsweetened milk and yoghurts so at least i can have a hot drink without bs going up. Hopefully i am been moved yo guys tomorrow where they can treat me better.
Watch this space

Sounds like you're feeling a lot brighter too . Great news

I small starting to feel a bit more like me now the med fog has lifted and doctors are listening to me more. Some people like me have silent chests and you can't always hear us whezze even when breathing is hard.

That explains why I almost had to fight for antibiotics in my younger days when my chest was really tight and sore but the doc said he couldn't really hear anything but.....

3.9 fasting this morning after a 2 hour post dinner reading of 8.0 the night before. I was expecting a higher reading this morning. What's the science behind the reading?

It worked mate !!

Rain and 18C

5.7 for me Getting these morning figures down one bit at a time. Goodbye to the 6s methinks

Could be. I find that some doctors try to say if your not wheezing then your ok.. This is wrong because you can very quickly become ill.

Rather than retest I normally do another reading in another half or one hour (as I did post lunch) if figures are higher than expected. Don't for lower ones wth not being on meds

Don't you hate that? Mine went a month ago and cost $1700 to replace

I'm fortunate my neighbour is a plumber. I ran to the local Home Depot store, $650 for the tank, and he charged me $350 to install, including all the fittings, ducting and gas hoses.
