Oh dear.... I hope it wasn't too bad...5.0 for me this morning.... so a Happy Wednesday... I've got the dentist today...grrrrrrrr
Your first ever filling? Good heavens... lucky you...Hope dentist is ok. I had my first ever filling yesterday, just a small one right at the back.
Oh dear.... no words.... glad your sense of humour survived it all though...They kind of shut you down big time with meds in the ICU, morphine etc and Propofol (a white coloured liquid called The Milk of Amnesia by staff as it is a general anaethetic). I had ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Respiratory Failure), can be quite fatal (20%-50% mortality). Long haul recovery and septicaemia to boot which started it off.
What a lovely, happy post...Woooohoooo!! Despite testing raspberries again for dessert last night, and having a tiny sliver of quiche with thin pastry, my bedtime reading was 7.2 and my fasting reading was ..... drum roll .... 6.1!! First time ever I have been below 7s and almost into 5s!!
An hour later pre-breakfast I was 6.8 and 2 hours after breakfast 5.8!
Oh, and my snowdrops are all flowering and I have a daffodil flowering and loads of buds. The resident blackbird keeps diving into the ivy bush with twigs in his beak... (BTW, I live in Scotland, so it's even more amazing!)
This is going to be an awesome day for me. I wish all of you a similar one.
Congrats to all those with good figures, and commiserations to those who are not so happy with theirs.
So is porridge, probably...Yes I know, bad Sue.
But on the up side. Porridge and blueberries for breakfast, walk with dog. Now down to 7.0, So not too bad.
Without a meter I would never have known just how bad the apple crumble was for me.
Crumbs...4.9 at 10:30 am.....fasting....defied liver dump by being up every hour (dog wth trots) and having snacks almost everytime I was downstairs....makes you hungry and can't get back to sleep hungry....and a brew one of first times. Zombie land and not a hangover from show either
Only "liked" to acknowledge patsy- hope they get you sorted out soon!5.9 this am I expected it to be higher as the Doctor stopped my metformin last night for a month he said as my iron levels low...he also refer me to have stomach checked in case a bleed inside.... needless to say I slept terrible ...worst night sleep i ever had grrr
Obviously don't "like" your pain CE! hope it calms soon.I am in pain with my fibromyalgia which won't be helping. That and the stress of using batch 44. Hope my new pots turn up soon. Enjoy being at home. Xx
5.4 this morning which makes me think bedtime of 5.9 was another batch 44 catch as I rarely decrease overnight, usually flat or slightly increase! One more pot of 44 left
What did you eat last night? Did you sleep badly? Never mind, tomorrow's another day
Oh that sounds nice i had chip shop fish peas and few pinched chips from Dad5.3 same as bedtime...had 3/4 pint Guinness last nite but only lightly battered fish and peas for tea - no chips
Congrats, better than 10 !Hi Susikav, I had some pecan nuts the night before, but to be honest, roundabout 9 seems to be my average. I've increased my evening insulin on the dsn advice, but this morning it's 9.8 :-(
Very interesting visit to the nurse specialist today. She had a read of the letter from the consultant which mentioned that I had asked about lchf and was advised against it. She just looked at me with a smile, and though I had resolved not to say anything, I fessed up and told her I had rebelled and been doing lchf for months. She then said that she had been doing low carb too! I told her all about Trudi Deakin' s change of view (she hadn't heard of her), and advised her to have a look at diet doctor, lol  She took great interest in what I was and wasn't eating, and how well I felt compared to before. She was pleased with my bg's generally, and not too concerned about my fasting, but just said to increase my pm dose of novamix to 56. I also asked her about Forxiga, and she said she had been thinking about that too as it would help with my weight loss and I could come off the Sitagliptin, and she is going to email my Consultant to prescribe it, as I won't see him until June. So, it's been a very positive and productive visit!
