Type 1 Type One and Metformin

I’ve been type one for 49 years and using the Omnipod for two years. Recently I’ve been having problems with high blood sugars on getting up that refuse to come down - sometimes I might not get back into range until late afternoon. I saw the consultant yesterday and asked him if metformin would help - I know from what I’ve read that it stops the liver releasing insulin at the start of the day. Anyway, he has prescribed it and I’ve started taking it and I’m interested to see what happens. I’ve also heard it can reduce ‘food noise’ which would be a real bonus! My question is has anyone got any experiences to share, side effects and whether it’s helped? TIA.

I was diagnosed with t2, 5 months ago. And I've been on it for 4 months.
I don't feel hungry at all anymore I was never a big eater and meal times is just another job now
and since I started it I have bad wind
Luckily I work in a primary so the children get the blame for it.
 
I was prescribed it for insulin resistance (Type 1) initially, I found it made it so I didn’t want to eat as much which in turn probably did help with my resistance, during the first month of taking it I did get a lot of wind but other than that I was fine and that side effect did go away, I found at the time it was helpful. I had to stop taking it as I was allergic to something in one brand and they couldn’t guarantee what brand would be shipped each time I ordered. It it weren’t for that I’d happily be still taking it.
