Hey Wendy
Well I have had two Diabetic pregnancies , I had the best Hba1C's I have ever achieved both in the 6's all the way through,I was paranoid about it  so perfect control is certainly achievable Wendy . To be honest I found I had better control during my Pregnancies without the time of the month hormones to complicate matters...You may find you are the same it was much easier for me although I was on an AMAZING amount of insulin towards the end of my first pregnancy...but levels dropped at the end of my second,so both again were very different. :?
I had to have emergency C-sections with both of my Babies. My first was delivered at 36 weeks (7lb 8oz,so not that big) due to me having Eclampsia , I developed Pre-Eclampsia from the 6 month mark and was in Hospital with it nearly full time from then on being monitored but it still developed into Eclampsia and I was VERY VERY ill, I don't remember that much about it apart from panic , nurses not me, I was too out of it....he was fine, little monkey, he has never been an easy one
My Daughter born at 34 weeks (6lb 8oz) not a bad size for an early one ,so both may have been big babies if they had gone full term but when I had mine they always planned to deliver Diabetic babies at 38 weeks anyway as far as I remember.
You will be screened and watched amazingly well so do not worry you will be fine and so will your baby, weekly scans, weekly endo visits. You will be in good hands. I think it's lovely you are thinking about it and wish you all the best. It is so very worth it in the end, no matter what you go through...mine make me
Everyday and are worth any struggles along the way.
So relax and enjoy the ride
