U500 in a pump

Hope someone can help me lol.

Have a hbA1c of 19 and am currently using U500 insulin, with little effect. Apart from anything else, it's really painful to inject. I can only describe the pain as similar to getting bleach into a cut :!:

I've been told that they want mr to retry a pump - I tried one about a year ago but it made no difference to my bgs. However I was only using actrapid in it.

Has anyone got any experience of using U500 in a pump and if so can they offer any guidelines please

I'm sory I don't know much about U500, yet alone in a pump, I don't think many people in the UK use it. I did remember some posts earlier in the year on a US forum. They don't have a lot of useful info but you may be able to contact the original posters.

I have only met one person using U500. Have you tried to reduce your carb intake to reduce your need for insulin?
Are you T1 or T2? That would make a little diffeerence to how tocope.

hi i use u500 in a pump the accu-chek spirit as it has the largest cartridge and it works for me i have nearly halved my insulin intake since going on the pump its been slow but getting there
