Been a T2 for a few years now and have recently been given Victoza and am getting along with it fine. I go away next month aboard and not sure what to do with my used needles, lancets and test strips (test twice a day). I can't take my sharps bin with me but don't just want to throw them in the bin. What do you do on a holiday abroad?
Maybe take an empty container that your strips came in and put your lancets in there then dispose of as usual once home. I heard that several people do this.
As for the needle clipper, I'm not sure of its purpose because I think it's still sensible to put the remainder of the needle in a sharps bin. After all the insulin cartridge end is still fairly sharp.
I agree with @himtoo though and just put my used needles in a heavy duty sandwich bag with the needle guard and cap back on and then put them in my sharps bin when I get back.
