I've asked elsewhere but have had no response, so here's what I'm needing to know, to get the carb count right, if I'm going to be having roasted veggies, do I weigh my portion out after they have been par-boiled and before roasting? Any help would be greatly appreciated xx

That would depend on the information you have on the carb content. Probably difficult to find figures for roast or even par-boiled veg so you would need to weigh the raw veg.

When I check my food unless it specifically says stuff like ‘oven cooked’ then I take it as the weight before it’s cooked.
A bag of veg I have had ‘oven baked’ next to the nutrition so I would weigh that after I’ve cooked it to work it out.
Hope that helps.

It would be fresh veg I was roasting as all the frozen roasting vegetables are either far too carby for my current situation or include vegetables I'm not too keen on lol, thanks x

Ah I see. Well there is an app which cost about £3.99 I think called carbs and Cals. It has a pictures of all sorts of foods with its nutritional value. I know it’s annoying paying for an app but it’s been helpful.

I have the book but I'm still wondering whether I need to weigh my portion in its raw state or after its boiled x

On page 28 of the Carbs & Cals book it says "This always the cooked/prepared weight".

This will give you both options. I tend to stick with one or two veg at each meal rather than a smorgasbord. Too domplicers. I have 3 or 4 different veg a day. Lunch is usually asp and Brussels and dinner broccoli and Bok Choy. I know how many carbs I want at each meal so now it’s simple. Still not a lot of veg as I eat keto but by the end of the day it’s a cup os so. Broccoli and Brussels add up fast but I’d rather have some than none. I do mushrooms sometimes too. Mainly in my mushroom gravy. Brussels are like candy to me. I have to be very careful. I have this adorable clay steamer pot. Great for a days worth of veggies. I stopped roasting as I can tbe bothered anymore lol

Years ago, my dietitian recommended count carbonhydrates when veggies are raw.

I've always estimated from raw weight unless as
@lrn2brunch says it 's pre-cooked - but since I don't actually believe nature can ever be 100% in agreement with nutritional checks done with batches of food in lab condtions, I use any given carb values as a "guesstimated" guide rather than being guaranteed as gospel. I then tend to rely on my meter to tell me if I'm getting things right.
