Hi everyone,

Last year I tried out Victoza and found that on the starter dosage of 0.6mg, I was OK but once I moved up after 2 weeks to the standard 1.2mg dosage, my stomach couldn't handle it (constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain and cramping) so had to stop.

I now have the option of trying out Bydureon, the long acting/slow release version of Byetta (whose gastrointestinal side effects, so I was told, can be even more severe than Victoza). I would be interested in hearing if anyone has tried both medications and whether they had the same trouble with it as they did with Victoza. One doctor said I might be able to tolerate Victoza if I stayed on the starting 0.6mg dose for a month instead of just two weeks - it was a bit frustrating for me since aside from the bad stomach I had while I was on it, my sugar levels were controlled reasonably well.

Thanks,
Ellis
