Prior to Xmas, I had bloods done and they showed a low level of vitamin d3. Following a comment made by someone on here relating to d3 and diabetes I thought I would do some digging.
Anyway, I found this paper from a study that linked increased d3 with better glycaemic control:
As a result, I am now taking d3 supplements and am interested to see whether they help. One thing I noted in the paper was that the Hba1c levels reported seemed high, even for those reporting an improvement. As a sample of one starting from a lower Hba1c than those in the trial, it will be interesting to see whether this makes any difference.
I take vitamin d supplements, cannot say that they have made any difference to diabetes but I have been on them since before becoming diabetic. The best way to get Vit d is to go out into sun for 20 minutes without any lotions. Some people will find that warm weather will alter bs reading
