Vitrectomy advice

Hi
I'm new to this site and wanted some advice about Vitrectomy Recovery. I had my right eye operated on last Wednesday and the swelling has not gone down. I was told that I should expect loss of vision initially so was just wanting to hear about anyone else's experience. I'm 36 and been a type 1 diabetic for 23 years. Thanks x

I think it was around 6 weeks before my eye fully recovered @Mels30, I had to administer the drops for the first 4 weeks (one being a steroid based) to reduce the swelling in the eye.

Post vitrectomy it's quite common for a cataract to develop, I was warned about this and sure enough one appeared, had the cataract op about 6 months after and have been problem-free since.
